The Man of Lawlessness and the Burning of the Qur’an.

Behind my desk is a newly framed picture that has special meaning to me. It is a picture of the Dome of the Rock, the Muslim religious shrine that memorializes Muhammad’s “night journey” and his heavenly rendezvous with Allah. Superimposed on the picture are the words, “…only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.  And then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth…” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8. It was in my study of 2 Thessalonians 2 that God revealed the first “piece” of the “Islamic Paradigm” puzzle, that is, Islam is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy of an antichrist empire that will rise up in the last days to wage “holy war” against the world (Revelation 13:1-10). The spiritual meaning behind the Dome of the Rock was the first revelation of that Paradigm (see “Introduction, p XI, Islam the Cloak of Antichrist). The Dome of the Rock is not an Islamic worship center, i.e., a mosque. The Dome of the Rock is an octagonal, domed structure that “stands over” a massive rock (“Rock”) located on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. There is nothing else located within the Dome of the Rock other than the Rock itself, and the marble, columned structure that foreshadows and encloses it. Marble columns over the Rock The Rock is the “Foundation Stone,” the literal foundation for the ancient Ark of...

What does the Qur’an say about its burning?

Reporting in the Tribune, February 22, 2012: “KABUL:At least five Afghans were shot dead and dozens wounded Wednesday in clashes between police and demonstrators protesting over the burning of the Holy Quran at a US-run military base, officials said. In the capital Kabul and in provinces to the east, north and south of the capital, furious Afghans took to the streets screaming “Death to America,” throwing rocks and setting fire to shops and vehicles as gunshots rang out. In the eastern city Jalalabad, students set fire to an effigy of President Barack Obama, while the US embassy in Kabul declared it was on lockdown. In Kabul, hundreds of people poured onto the Jalalabad road, throwing stones at US military base Camp Phoenix, where troops guarding the base fired into the air and black smoke from burning tires rose, an AFP photographer said.” President Obama is quoted by Bloomberg Businessweek (February 23, 2012), “I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident in which personnel at the Bagram air base threw copies of the Koran and other books into a burning rubbish pile… I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies… We will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible.” General John Allen, head of NATO forces in Afghanistan, explained the burning of the Qur’ans as unintended, along...

Will the “real” Islam please stand up?

Religion of peace.  You must be kidding. If Islam is so peaceful, why are the headlines filled with exactly the opposite? Here are some from just the last two days. Wave of attacks in Iraq ends weeks of calm – Yahoo! News. ‘The Persian Gulf Will Be Turned into a Graveyard’ for International Forces Iran court convicts Christian pastor convert to death Taliban to Afghans: Kill foreigners over Quran burnings Al-Shabaab militia abducting teenage girls to marry fighters Website of “Peaceful” Actions of the World’s Muslims It really doesn’t matter how many times we hear that Islam is a religion of peace, nor does it matter the voice we hear it from.  The actions of Muslims in the name of Allah, Muhammad, or the Qur’an shout so loudly that we can’t hear what the world’s advocates for Islam are saying.  How can anyone hold that Islam is a religion of peace when the “model” for Islam is Muhammad, the “prophet of the sword,” whom all Muslims hold as their supreme role model. Muhammad was anything but a man of peace.  Here is a quote from an Egyptian Cleric Wagdi Ghneim on HAMAS’ Al-Aqsa TV, 2/24/2010) that sums up the real story about the “terrorists” of Islam: We are a nation that excels in the production of the art of death… I will die anyway, so I should be creative to make sure my death...
