NATO on Tuesday rejected Moscow’s explanation that its warplanes had violated alliance member Turkey’s air space by mistake and said Russia was sending more ground troops to Syria and building up its naval presence.
The world seems to be edging ever more closely to a major event. In fact, Ezekiel 38 seems to be unwrapping by the moment. What isn’t making sense is that Turkey (“Gomer” in Ezekiel 38:6) and Russia (of the land of Magog, the prince of “Rosh, Meshech and Tubal,” Ezekiel 38:2 NASB) are on opposite sides (for the moment). In Ezekiel 38, they are allies in Gog’s alliance. As the Reuter’s article states, U.S. and Russian war planes are flying over the same country, on opposite sides, for the first time since World War 2. Russian violation of Turkey’s space does not appear to be an accident according to the U. N. but rather a provocation.
Russia is an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, an Alawite Shia. Russia is also an ally of Iran (Twelver Shia), which has been supporting Assad for years. Russia is targeting Islamist forces opposing Assad (ISIS has not been the object of Russian air attacks at present). America is supporting the same rebel forces that Russia is attacking. America opposes Syrian President Assad.
Wonder how long it will be before the headlines are about American and Russian airplanes rather than Russia and Turkey?
Jesus come quickly.
