I could not help but reply to the following article posted by CBN on July 27:

Pastor: Microchipping Humans Is Straight Out of Revelation –

It’s been making big headlines: The first American workers are getting injected with microchips.

The Wisconsin company that’s doing it says it’s the future, and it’s all about convenience. But the idea is sparking opposition from both religious and secular circles, from biblical End Times concerns to privacy rights. Read more.

This article and many others are referencing Revelation 13:16-17 which states:

And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. (Rev. 13:16-17 NAS)

A Wisconsin Company is the first in the United States to use “chipping,” that is, a small device is implanted in the right hand, beneath the skin, which contains employee data that will allow employees to purchase snacks, etc., without needing to pull out a credit card or carry cash. The company is “Three Square Market.” A CBN article the previous day contained this paragraph:

Three Square Market is a developer of software used in vending machines and will pay for their employees to get chipped. CBN News reported earlier this year that a company in Sweden is also offering its workers similar microchip implants that function as swipe cards. Many Christians express concerns about microchip implants because they see the idea as a prelude to “the mark of the Beast” as described in the book of Revelation. Read more.

Is this a fulfillment of Bible prophecy? Short answer: absolutely not! Why? Because the “mark” (which could be a computer chip of some kind) is only given to those who worship the 1st beast (the beast from the sea of Revelation 13:1-10). My view of Revelation 13 likens the 1st beast to be a deity of a false religion, e.g., Allah, the god of Islam. I conclude this because of the many references in Revelation 13 to worship (Revelation 13:4, 8, 12, 15), and the fact that the 1st beast blasphemes God, his name, and his dwelling (Revelation 13:6). This would only occur with a false religion (Islam) standing against the true religion, Christianity, and the God that birthed it in Jesus Christ. This is clearly a blasphemy of God since it makes Him a liar because one does not believe what He has said about His Son (1 John 5:10).  Revelation 14:9 adds to this conclusion because it clearly connects the receiving of the identifying mark with what the mark identifies. It states:

And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. (Rev. 14:9-10 NAS)

Again, the mark is only received by someone who worships the 1st beast, the false deity. If they do worship the beast,  they are allowed to “buy or sell” (Revelation 13:16-17). The people of Three Square Market are not receiving the chip because they have chosen to worship a God other than the God whose followers’names are written in the book of life (Revelation 13:8). Rather, they receive the chip to buy a coke and a bag of chips for ease of purchase. This is hardly what the “unmarked” in Revelation 13:15 will be slain for (Revelation 13:15).

Jesus come quickly.

Blessings.

Jack Smith
